Jay’s 40/40 CLUB In NYC, SHUT DOWN “Health Code Violations”!!



Just after making his first appearance for the Grand Opening of his 40/40 club in NYC. The club is now shut down following a health code inspection that uncovered a slew of violations, just a day after its celebrity-drenched $10 million relaunch.

The violations, listed below, was reported by the NY Post, and range from hot food being left out on the counter … to a refrigerator being kept at 60° rather than the required 41° … to a worker seen mixing salsa with his bare hands.

The club was scored 69 violation points, according to New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene’s website. A score of 28 or higher results in the dreaded C grade.

According to the paper, the club was closed Thursday night and new patrons were not allowed in — the ones already inside were allowed to stay.

During its last inspection, in March, before the facelift, the club racked up 39 violation points for problems including improperly handled food and unsanitary conditions. 

The Department of Health’s website lists the restaurant as “closed by Health Dept.” … but the NY Post says it was open for business last night. 

Im guessing 99 problems and your 40/40 is one…..

    I don't believe in KARMA, but that is what you get for being a selfish prick when your daughter was born. Next time don't have your entourage prevent people from seeing their babies, along with the families. I guess you couldn't use your celebrity to get the A, ha! ha!

    $10 Million for a remodel job for the interior? Me thinks he got robbed. Celebrities often try to open bars & restaurants and almost always fail. They have no idea what they are doing and get ripped off.

    What Jay Z needs to do is to FIRE all the kitchen staff and start fresh. But, will he do it? $10 million for remodeling, but cheaped out on the Chef and staff.

    I'm thinking he went cheap here too. Any decent chef has a health department certification and these things would have not happened. Real amateur night mistakes, and when you are launching a big outfit like this, you have to realize the health inspector will make a lot of hay, and possibly promotions, by drawing attention to the efforts of the department.

    Looks like Jay-Z needs to go to another state. NYC regulations are notoriously market restrictive and discourage entrepreneurs. This is what happens when you have a bunch of Marxists in the City Council. Jay Z, do what most people do, leave New York. NYC is no longer relevant. Get out while you can!

    actually it's called serving safe food and sanitation to prevent foodborne illness, which can be deadly. Jay Z is a schmuck if he thinks he can just remodela restuarant and open it up. He needs to hire competent staff. Bacteria do not care if it is Jay Z's or the guy selling hot dogd on the corner. Get real,man.

    No it isn't. The laws are market restrictive. It prevents people from entering the market as providers of goods and services. Its bears similarity to the cabaret laws. NYC is done and over. Time to move to regions that are business friendly. NYC is becoming the "People's Republic of New York". Any day now, NYC will become the new Soviet Union. Way to go "comrade"
