R&B singer Usher Raymond and Latin singer Shakira are reportedly not returning to NBC’s “The Voice” next season.
According to reports, the “Scream” hitmaker — who replaced Cee-Lo Green on the judging panel this year — has reportedly signed on to star in an upcoming movie and is unable to renew his contract with the NBC talent reality show. But, has the green-light to return in the future.
According to UsMagazine, “Usher is doing a movie, so he couldn’t do season five if they wanted him to.”
An insider says, “Shakira wants to take a season off to take care of her four month old son, Milan. She also has an option to return.”
Cee-Lo is now expected to take back his spot from the 34 year-old father-of-two and return to the series alongside Adam Levine, Blake Shelton, and fellow original judge Christina Aguilera.
Plus, Christina, who called her exit from the show “bittersweet,” says she is excited to return after she was asked by producers of the show to return.
