Keke Palmer Brings Her “Sexy.Cool” To Regard Mag’s October Issue; Talks Growing Up, New Video & Album, TLC Biopic & More!

Following her sexy RollingOut cover shoot, actress Keke Palmer is also spicing things up in the new October issue of Regard magazine, where she talks about transitioning from a young girl to a young woman, the new TLC biopic,  and releasing a new album (due out next year).

During her interview with Regard, Palmer also revealed that she will be dropping a new music video with its accompanied single this month, along with working on two new movies with Queen Latifah and Drew Barrymore, and being grounded.

Here’s are a few highlights from the interview:

You’re most notable for “Akeelah and the Bee” and Nickelodeon’s “True Jackson VP.” How do you feel about the transition from a young girl to a young woman:

“I guess I feel normal about it [laughs]. I do like to take my time, especially since I realize how special my childhood was, aside from my acting career. I never want to move too fast and not enjoy all of my young adult years.”

We notice throughout your photo shoot that you’re truly an ‘old soul.’ How do you stay so grounded?

“[Laughs] My family — we are very close and they always keep it real with me. I am special, but no more special than any of God’s children.”

On some of her favorite designers stashed in her closet:

“Right now, my closet is very unique. I have from Helmut Lang, Vince, Alexander Wang, Stella McCartney, YSL.. and of course, with a mix of some Forever21, Urbran and Brandy Melville.”

The magazine also asked Palmer about the new TLC story on VH1, along with any future projects in store:

“Definitely! I have two movies next year. One is a horror movie with Drew Barrymore’s company, Flower Films. The other is a coming-of-age movie with Queen Latifah’s company, Flavor Unit. I’m also recording a new album with my producer Bangladesh.”

She added:

“He and I are looking forward to releasing the video to one of the songs this October.”
