Season 5 winner of NBC’s “The Voice”, Tessanne Chin, has been listed amongst a line up of accomplished women set to perform at the White House tonight.
According to Boneyaad, as a part of their “In Performance at the White House” series, President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama have invited music legends and contemporary major female artists to the White House for a celebration of the great “foremothers” of American music, with songs expressing the struggles and achievements of women.
In connection with the concert, the White House will hold a workshop for students to learn about the history of women in soul.
Other performances include Melissa Etheridge, Aretha Franklin, Ariana Grande, Patti LaBelle, Janelle Monae, and Jill Scott. The show will be streamed live via WhiteHouse.gov/live starting at 7:30 P.M. ET.
Also, “Women of Soul: In Performance at the White House” will be broadcast on Monday, April 7 at 9:00 PM ET on PBS stations across the US.
