If you’ve recently watched the ‘R&B Divas: Atlanta’ reunion show on TV One (July 2nd), then you should be aware of singer turned reality star, Angie Stones, announcing her exit.
During the show’s taping, tensions went through the roof between Stone, the cast members and host, Wendy Williams, when the soulful singer was asked by Williams about her personal life and affair with her boyfriend/manager, Ashanti.
After her heated argument with co-star Syleena Johnshon, an angry Stone broke under pressure and walked off stage, but later returned to say, “this will be my last season on the show. I’m done with the cameras and speculated rumors surrounding my personal life.”
Now, while many thought the 52-year-old R&B Diva would have changed her mind and sign on for another season, Stone’s rep told Rumor Fix that after two-seasons on the show, “[Stone] won’t be returning to Reality TV due to a lack of professionalism on behalf of production crew.”
Stone’s rep went on to say that, “My client did not want to associate herself with that type of behavior and tricks of the trade. She was to be the voice of reason, brought on under false pretenses, and after speaking and consulting with her pastor and church, it was not something she choose to allow in her life.”
And though she would like to get married one day to Ashanti, it seems like he’s busy having an affair. Word on the street is that Ashanti allegedly had an inappropriate (intimate) relationship with a woman that works for TV One’s production team. To this rumor, Angie’s rep responded by saying:
“They crossed the line of professionalism … Pursuing a man who is in a committed relationship is disturbing on a multitude of levels. Stone has been in this business for some 30 plus years, and will not allow anyone to attempt to tarnish her career or reputation, bottom line.”
