On Thursday, actress Gwyneth Paltrow announced in an interview on the Today Show that she is retiring from acting.
The 44-year-old actress and business woman explained that though she is thankful for having a successful acting career, she now wants to put all her focus on her company called, Goop, which is a modern lifestyle brand that offers cutting-edge wellness advice from doctors and experts as well as vetted travel recommendations, and a curated shop of clean beauty products.
Gwyneth, who is a multi-talented singer, comedian and food writer, gained early notice for her work in films such as the thriller Seven in 1995 and the period drama, Emma, in 1996. She then moved on to starring in other TV films like Shakespeare in Love (1998), for which she won an Academy Award, a Golden Globe Award and two Screen Actors Guild Awards.
‘I’m in the office all day, every day. ‘I have a pretty big team — we’re almost 85 people — so I kind of need to be at work.’ The blonde beauty – who used to be married to Coldplay rocker Chris Martin – added: ‘It’s just one of those things… I was so lucky: I had an incredible acting career, but I had this deep passion to produce content and make great products and curate things.
But for all you Paltrow fans, the actress says she’s not yet ready to hangup her acting career as she will be willing to take on small roles just nothing major.
‘I’m still going to do a little bit here and there, but this really requires almost all of my time,’ the Iron Man star said.
The mother of two girls later shared in an interview with ExtraTv, “I’m not sure how I’ll feel about acting going forward. I’m doing just a teensy little bit here and there when I have time, but I am loving running my business.”
